The main differences between air-cooled and water-cooled laser welding machines are as below:
1. Cooling method: Air cooled and water-cooled
2. Portability and Size: Air-cooled units are significantly smaller, lighter, and more portable because no need water tanks or chiller. water-cooled are larger and heavier.
3.Power Output: Air-cooled have lower maximum power output range from 700W to 2000W, water-cooled can exceed 2000W for welding thicker materials.
4.Continuous Operating Time: Water-cooled laser welding machine can run continuously for longer period than air-cooled ones because of the chilling system.
5. Maintenance and Operating Costs :
Air-cooled laser welding machine has much lower cost , because it is with simpler design and lower power consumption. Water-cooled laser welders require regular maintenance of the cooling system, including water treatment and replacement, and also higher power requirements.
Generally specking, for less than 2000W laser welder, we suggest air cooled ones, the welding ability of a 1500W air cooled laser welding machine equals a 2000W water-cooled laser welder.
